Robert Douglas Thomas Pattinson popularly known as Robert Pattinson is English actor, model and musician. He is also known by the nicknames Rob, R-Pattz, and Spunk Ransom. He became popular after playing the lead role of vampire Edward Cullen in the movie series of Twilight. He was born on 13th May 1986 in London. His father Richard Pattinson is car salesman who deals in imported vintage cars from the U.S. Mother Clarke Pattinson works for a modeling agency. He is the only brother of two elder sisters Lizzy Pattinson, and Victoria Pattinson. He studied in the prep school for boys Tower High School, London up to the age of 12 and then moved to The Harrodian School. In his teenage, starting his career as an actor he worked as a stage actor for the Barnes Theatre Company. As a stage actor he played a small role in the famous play Guys and Dolls. He played the role of George Gibbs in Thornton Wilder’s Our Town. After that he started looking for professional roles in films.

Robert debuted as a film actor by playing the role of Rawdy Crawley in Janette Day’s film Vanity Fair in 2004. Robert appeared as Cedric Diggory in Hollywood movie sequels of Harry potter in ‘Harry Potter and the Goblet of Fire’ in 2005 and reappeared in ‘Harry Potter and the Order of the Phoenix’ in 2007. In 2008 he played the role of Art in movie ‘How to Be’ and was awarded ‘Strasbourg Film Festival Award for Best Actor’ for the same. His career touched the peak of success when he appeared as a vampire Edward Cullen first time for the movie Twilight in 2008. For such a tremendous work in Twilight 2008 he was awarded with different awards under different categories. He was awarded with ‘MTV Movie Award for Breakthrough Performance Male’, ‘MTV Movie Award for Best Kiss’ which he shared with Kristen Stewart and ‘MTV Movie Award for Best Fight’. Apart from MTV movie awards he also got Team Choice Awards under four different categories. He got Team Choice Award for Choice hottie, Teen Choice Award for Choice Movie Actor Drama, ‘Teen Choice Award for Movie Liplock’ which he shared with her co-star Kristen Stewart and ‘Teen Choice Award for Choice Movie Rumble’. He also got Scream Award for Best Fantasy Actor and shared the People’s Choice Award for Favourite On-Screen-Team with Taylor Lautner and Kristen Stewart. He got nominated for ‘Empire Award for Best Newcomer’, ‘People’s Choice Award for Favourite Movie Actor’ and ‘Scream Award for Best Ensemble Cast’ but was little bit unlucky to bag it.

His reappearance as Edward Cullen in movie The Twilight Saga: New Moon the second movie of the series Twilight in 2009 was once again very much appreciated by the viewers. He got ‘Russia’s Georges Award for Best Foreign Actor’, ‘National Movie Award for Best Performance’ in The Twilight Saga: New Moon. He was awarded with ‘MTV Movie Award for Global Superstar’, ‘MTV Movie Award for Best Male Performance’ and once again shared the ‘MTV Movie Award for Best Kiss’ with Kristen Stewart. He shared the ‘Teen Choice Award for Movie Liplock’ and ‘Teen Choice Award for Movie chemistry’ with Kristen Stewart. The third movie of the Twilight series ‘The Twilight Saga: Eclipse’ released in June 2010 also turn out to be the award winning movie for Robert. He got the ‘Teen Choice Award for Choice Summer Movie Star – Male’ and shared the ‘People’s Choice Award for Favourite On-Screen-Team’ with Taylor Lautner and Kristen Stewart. ‘Remember Me’ was only movie in which Robert appeared other than The Twilight Saga: Eclipse that was screened in 2010 also bags an award for him. Robert got ‘Teen Choice Award for Choice Movie Actor Drama’ for his performance in ‘Remember Me’. Robert also started his career as a Film Producer from this movie; he was Executive Producer of the movie. Robert Pattison also worked in Television Films. He appeared in television film’s ‘Ring of the Nibelungs’, ‘The Haunted Airman’ and ‘The Bad Mother’s Handbook’.

Roberts recently launched movie ‘Water for Elephants’ released on 22April, 2011 is very much liked by the viewers. Robert Pattison will appear as Georges Duroy in his upcoming movie ‘Bel Ami’ which is to be released on 12 May, 2011.

Robert Pattison is also known as a musician, he composes his own music and plays guitar and Piano. He is a good singer too, the songs ‘she’ll never think’, ‘stray dog’ and ‘let me sign’ was very much liked by his fans. Robert was awarded the ‘Hollywood’s Most Influential Top Unexpected Musicians, award.in2010.
Robert Pattison started his career in modeling when he was of just 12, but didn’t achieve success in it. In 2007 he appeared in advertising campaign for Hackett’s autumn collection.
